Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
The last books that I bought were the two James Bond books that I didn’t already have for my James Bond challenge for this year, and the other day I picked up a copy of Persuasion by Jane Austen from a charity shop, so that I would have something to read whilst on the bus home.

I get quite a lot of books from the charity shops.

Last year, I listened to Mark Lawson’s Foreign Bodies show on BBC R4. Good look at Euro Crime fiction. I bought my dad a few of the books mentioned. A wide spread so he could decide if he wanted to invest further in any series.

The first in the Martin Beck series
Happy Birthday, Turk by Jakob Arjouni
The Inspector Barlach Mysteries: “The Judge and His Hangman” and “Suspicion” by Friedrich Durrenmatt
The last 2 I bought myself were on Kindle, Children of the Stones because I love the tv serial and Berlin Diary: The Journal of a Foreign Correspondent 1934-1941 by William Shirer L.
